Meteoriet mogelijk oorzaak crash Airbus

Het toestel van Air France is tijdens de fatale vlucht AF 447 namelijk mogelijk geraakt door een ruimteschipmeteoriet. Twee piloten van de Spaanse luchtvaartmaatschappij Air Comet verklaarden in een rapport aan de Spaanse burgerluchtvaartautoriteit een fel, dalend licht gezien te hebben in de buurt van de plek waar het toestel de oceaan in dook.

Het is niet voor het eerst dat een meteorietinslag wordt verbonden met een vliegtuigcrash. Over de beruchte TWA Flight 800 wordt ook gespeculeerd over een onfortuinlijke botsing met een stuk ruimtepuin; twee jaar geleden werd een Chileens passagiersvliegtuig nog bijna gecaramboleerd. Wetenschappers hebben berekend dat de kans dat er in de periode van 1989 tot nu een vliegtuig door meteoriet is doorboord ongeveer 1/20, en mogelijk nog iets groter is. Met de onophoudelijk groeiende vliegbewegingen wordt de kans op een buitenaardse botsing natuurlijk steeds groter.

Dr. Babalin en de zijnen blijven deze vakantie veilig thuis, want de kans dat je thuis wordt overvallen door een buitenaardse indringer is nihil. Boven wordt het prima barbecueweer deze zomer. En het is nog goed voor het milieu, ook!
